Faq – About Water Aerator Tap

Sandra asks…
I can’t find my main water tap inside the house?
I am trying to find my main water tap so I can repair a tap that has no throughput of water. I.e. the tap just drips ever so slowly with no pressure. Someone told me it is the aerator, or the washer.
I have checked under the sink and by my boiler, can’t see any mains tap. Anyone got any ideas where it could be and would would cause my tap to drip so slowly?
Thanks!
Just as an aside, the pressure does not alter when turning on hot or cold, which leads me to believe it could be the washer.

Stop valves can be :-
under the sink
under the floor boards in the passage in the front garden
on the pavement but these are usually water board valves and need a key to turn them

David asks…
Where could I get an short rubber tube to fit over my kitchen tap with a metal inner threaded end?
I need one because I cannot unscrew the aerator at the outlet of my tap in order to replace it with a water filter adaptor which would screw in it’s place. Please help. Thanks.

I have had those before on my tap, they pour out water reallllllll slow, not worth it, I keep a Brita in the fridge for all my drinking water, and have a big water filter on my ice maker line.

Richard asks…
I would like to install Aerators for all my taps and showers.?
All the fittings are already done, and they dont take an aerator at the their tap/shower end. However I was wondering about the possibility of any aerators which can be included/inserted in the water supply for each tap/shower.Anybody has any information on Aerator or their manufacturers, which can be inserted in the water inlet/supply line for each of the tap or showers?
Staff answers:
Aerators don’t go in the water line. They fit on the end of the tap spout.
