Faq – About Water Aerator Shower

Lisa asks…
low flow aerators and shower heads?
I’m looking for places that sell low flow aerators and shower heads…trying to conserve water. Any ideas?
Staff answers:
Virtually every hardware store will carry them.

Robert asks…
Kitchen hot/cold water pressure weak, fine in bathroom? Help!?
I have had this problem for about 6 months. The water pressure in my kitchen sink is weak. I have checked the aerator but no build up. I have checked to insure both knobs are completely on under the sink. When I wiggled the pipe it slowed down even more. What do you think is the problem and how can I fix it? The bathroom sink water pressure is fine and so is the shower!
Staff answers:
Replace parts in the faucet or replace it, probably worn out.

Joseph asks…
kitchen faucet?
my kitchen faucet has lost lot of pressure all of a sudden. I did clean the aerator twice…no luck. And do not have a side spray. the faucet is the kind that you push a button to make it spray also. the problem is with both hot and cold water. incidentally this all happened when one of our pipes sprang a leak. the rubber washer deteriorated on an pipe supply line in the garage (where the water comes in from outside) and we had that repaired immediately but the problem with the faucet started at the same time and still persists. The pressure everywhere else is still the same (as before the leak). So what i can’t figure out is what is the relationship between the leak and the kitchen faucet only. And why is the faucet still messed up after the leak was repaired. We have checked all the valves to make sure they are open all the way. Showers upstairs have same pressure as before. Bathroom sink and toilet on same level as kitchen are still functioning as before too. This one’s a mystery!

You could have gotten air ,or even mud in your lines.Did you pull your kitchen faucet cartridges out? All the way out? Could be mud or metal little particles stuck in the pipes .That is just my guess, I am not a plumber although I have to act like I am sometimes. I do our plumbing up to a certain point. If it goes behind a wall,or if a spider is close , that is where I make him call a regular plumber. We don’t call them very often.
