Just bought a water faucet filter.. how do i remove water aerator?
Step 1 of installment is “Remove aerator from faucet.”
How do I do that?
I tried just twisting with a wrench, but there seems to be some kind of gunk(light green, kind of chalky) keeping it held tight.
Any suggestions on how to clean and remove?

The gunk is a mineral build up and not part of the faucet itself. If the aerator has no flat sides for a wrench, then wrap a piece of rubber or cloth around the aerator before twisting it off if you want to save theaerator without scratches from the pipe wrench. If it has trouble moving, tap it with a hammer to loosen the minerals. Once it is out, spray some household cleaner on the interior threads and wipe with a cloth to remove build-up before installing the filter.

Trying to fix faucet aerator but won’t come out?
I’ve been trying for countless hours but its been horrible. Its to a point where the aerator is mutilated. It will only turn, but won’t seem to come out. What else can i do? Iv’e tried WD-40 and used pliers to twist them, nothing seems to work.

Get a small glass or paper cup that you can tie or use a rubber band to hold the glass / paper cup to the facet with the facet immersed into the cup. Fill the cup with vinegar enough to cover the end of the facet. The facet end needs to be covered by at least ½” inch. Let it set for an hour or so, the longer the better. The vinegar will dissolve the calcium deposits and the aerator will flow free. You also will find the aerator will unscrew freely also. You can use this method for your shower facet or any facet in the house. Vinegar does a wonderful job dissolving calcium deposits which is what clogs up aerators.

How do I put back the parts of a faucet aerator in the right order?
I tried to remove the aerator by pushing inside and everything fly out. Now, I want to put back the parts inside but I don’t kn ow the right order. I took a picture of the parts from A to H. I found more detailed information. The brand of the faucet is Pioneer, it’s item # 447109 and the desciption is 4474 Series Deco Aerator.
Something more accurate: 447400 SERIES BRASS DECO AERATOR, CHROME FINISH

It will not be the end of the world if you leave all the parts out and simply screw the housing back on the faucet. The faucet will work just fine without them. You just won’t have the pretty spray pattern.
