Laura asks…

How to purify water through use of ponds/lakes being fed with aeration system?

Where can I find an ariticle that states how to purify water through the use of ponds/lakes being fed with an aeration system & plants that starts witht he water running over rocks to enter the first pond/lake?

You should start by looking up sewer lagoon on google, a lot of small waste water treatment plants operate a similar scheme. An anaerobic chamber first, then sedimentation, then filtration, then aeration, secondary filtration then disinfection and release.

Staff answers:

are factors that affect fish growth. That doesn’t mean you need an aerator. If the water surface is agitated enough, by something like a waterfall, it will be properly aerated, provided your tank/pond isn’t overstocked.

Oxygen enters the water when the surface is agitated. If your filters can accomplish this, and your koi don’t gasp for air at the surface, then your water is properly aerated.
